The Sportsman Series short blocks start with a seasoned GM or Ford block (SBC 355/383, SBF 331/347/408, BBC 468/496), a Wheeler TomahawkCR race block (SBC 421/427), a Dart Block (SBF427w), or a Wheeler GladiatorCR race block (BBC 502/540). Every block goes through a rigorous inspection procedure before a complete in-house machining process. The balanced rotating assembly consists of a Wheeler 4140 crankshaft, Wheeler 4140 I-beam connecting rods and premium light weight forged pistons, file fit moly rings, and King high performance rod & main bearings. Clearances and tolerances are set for performance and reliability.
