The Competition Series Short Block starts with a seasoned GM or Ford block (SBF 347-421, SBC 350-383 GM and BBC 496), a new Wheeler Race Block (SBC 406-440) or a new Dart Block (BBC 509-622). All blocks undergo a rigorous inspection before the complete machining process. The balanced rotating assembly consists of a Wheeler 4340 crankshaft, Wheeler 4340 H-beam connecting rods, Keith Black or Probe forged pistons, file-fit moly rings, and King high performance rod & main bearings. Clearances and tolerances are set for the added horsepower and higher RPM levels these short blocks are commonly used for in racing applications.
